چکیده

The simulation of nonlinear surface waves is significant importance in safety studies fluid containers and reservoirs. In this paper, free flows are simulated using a fixed grid method which employs local exponential basis functions (EBFs). Assuming the flow to be inviscid irrotational, velocity potential Laplace’s equation spatially discretized solved by considering Bernoulli’s for irrotational as boundary condition on surface. conditions imposed through semi-implicit iterative time marching. feature method, based Lagrangian description flow, allows retaining portion discretization performed first step bulk fluid. Grid states and nonlinear selection in parametrically excited surface waves.

Interacting surface waves, parametrically excited by two commensurate frequencies (Faraday waves), yield a rich family of nonlinear states, which result from a variety of three-wave resonant interactions. By perturbing the system with a third frequency, we selectively favor different nonlinear wave interactions. Where quadratic nonlinearities are dominant, the only observed patterns correspond ...

Numerical Simulation for Nonlinear Water Waves Propagating along the Free Surface

The main aim of this work is to introduce the analytical approximate solutions of the water wave problem for a fluid layer of finite depth in the presence of gravity. To achieve this aim, we begun with the derivation of the Korteweg-de Vries equations for solitons by using the method of multiple scale expansion. The proposed problem describes the behavior of the system for free surface between ...

Free Vibration Analysis of Quintic Nonlinear Beams using Equivalent Linearization Method with a Weighted Averaging

In this paper, the equivalent linearization method with a weighted averaging proposed by Anh (2015) is applied to analyze the transverse vibration of quintic nonlinear Euler-Bernoulli beams subjected to axial loads. The proposed method does not require small parameter in the equation which is difficult to be found for nonlinear problems. The approximate solutions are harmonic oscillations, whic...
